We have assigned the function "Shikimate 5-dehydrogenase I alpha (EC 1.1.1.25) # AroDI alpha" to the
encoded protein. The protein occurs in 2 subsystems: "Chorismate Synthesis", and "Common Pathway
For Synthesis of Aromatic Compounds (DAHP synthase to chorismate)". In "Chorismate Synthesis", it
appears to play a functional role that we have not associated with any other gene. In "Common
Pathway For Synthesis of Aromatic Compounds (DAHP synthase to chorismate)", it appears to play a
functional role that we have not associated with any other gene. The function of genes having the
same functional roles have been described in Haemophilus influenzae (12837789). This is a homologous protein which implements the same function.
